About Christ the King Church...

Three Traditions Converge
Thank you for your interest in Christ The King, Charismatic Episcopal Church. The mission of Christ The King Church is to bring the rich sacramental and liturgical heritage of the early church, the power of Pentecost, and the infallible truth of Scripture together in one expression of Christ's Church for this generation, providing a home for all Christians who seek a vital, powerful, energetic, and yet stable church in which to grow up in love with one another and in our knowledge and love of God.

Our worship may be a little different, but we believe you will find this difference refreshing and spiritually uplifting. We also believe you will experience the Lord in our services and His love in our people.
Sacramental/Liturgical
At Christ the King, we maintain the validity of God's grace imparted through the seven traditional sacraments of the Church: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Confession and Reconciliation, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, and Healing Unction. We use the Anglican form of worship found in the Book of Common Prayer.
Evangelical
At Christ the King, the Word is a precious possession of Christian faith; we hold to the Holy Scriptures as the inspired and infallible Word of God and that they contain all things necessary to salvation and Godly living. We believe you must be born again and emphasize a personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ and willingness to share the gospel as our Lord and Savior commanded.
Charismatic
At Christ the King, the power and work of the Holy Spirit underlies the activity of ministry in the life of this church. We believe in anointing with oil for healing and we practice the teaching of James 5:14-15, "is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord…"

Baptism
At Christ the King, we believe in one baptism, the sacrament by which we are born again of water and the Holy Spirit, and by which we receive a new and spiritual life. As baptized Christians, we are accorded the dignity of adoption as sons and daughters of God and heirs of God's kingdom. Baptism marks the initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body, the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble.Eucharist
At Christ the King, we recognize The Holy Eucharist as the sacrament commanded by Jesus for the continual remembrance of his life, death, and resurrection, until his coming again. In the Holy Communion God's grace is imparted to us through the Real Presence of Christ in the bread and wine. The Eucharist, the Church's sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, is the way by which the sacrifice of Christ is made present, and in which he unites us to his one offering of himself. Therefore the altar, which is the Lord's table, is the place where we gather to celebrate and partake in his gift of the Holy Communion. All Baptized Christians are invited to participate in the Holy Communion at Christ the King. The Eucharist is the central act of worship.Icons
What is an icon? Very much like a stained-glass image, an icon is a representation which conveys to us the symbolic presence of a person. St. Basil said, "what the Word transmits through the ear, painting silently shows through the image." It is important to remember that we do not worship any graven image, but we worship the Lord and honor his saints and the heavenly hosts in glory. We understand icons as the ancient church has taught through the centuries, as "windows into heaven." The icons serve as reminders to us of our Lord and of the saints who have gone before. They help us to remember the reality of our risen Savior who truly lived on earth and who now reigns in heaven.
