Ministries...

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13.

Healing Rooms
In this ministry, trained teams of lay people minister to individuals for their needs or on behalf of others. The teams offer themselves to be used by God to invite the Holy Spirit to heal, anoint or minister to a person or family. Trained prayer teams are available weekdays and evenings. Please call or e-mail the church for information to schedule an appointment. All glory goes to Jesus who is the Healer!

Prayer Teams
Prayer Chain - The Christ the King Prayer Chain makes possible prayer requests in a timely, organized manner. Members of the prayer chain commit to making themselves available to pray at regular times for needs of all who make known their requests for prayer.

To contact the intercessors concerning prayer needs, e-mail Sharon White by clicking here or call her at 704-482-2170, or e-mail Carolyn Calhoun by clicking here or call her at 704-445-2885. Your request will be communicated to all intercessors as soon as it is received.

Band of Brothers - Every Sunday morning the men of Christ the King begin the day with focused prayer for anointing during the morning service.

Band of Sisters - Every Sunday morning the women of Christ the King begin the day for praying, caring and sharing the Word.

Outreach - Christ the King Church supports a number of missionary and evangelical ministries throughout the world, by prayer and financial support.

Praise Teams
Children's Ministry - Christian education is provided for children from nursery through high school.

Ushers - Greet all who are attending services and help prepare people for worship by providing directions, reducing distractions, and by being attentive to the immediate needs of visitors and parishioners before, during and after service. Ushers disperse bulletins, offer assistance to the elderly and handicapped, pass the offering plates, and assist communicants during communion.

Acolytes - from Greek akolouthos, an acolyte is a person who assists the celebrant in the performance of liturgical rites. Men, women, and teenagers serve as acolytes at Christ the King Church. They assist in the worship services by serving as the crucifer, lighting the altar candles, processing the Gospel and serving at the altar during church services.

Altar Guild - This ministry serves the Lord by preparing the altar for worship. The members of the guild work in small groups to prepare the altar with the linens, candles, silver, bread and wine in preparation to celebrate the rites and ceremonies of the church including the Eucharist, Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, and Burial of the Dead.

Audio/Visual - Our sound and video systems at the Sunday service and for adult study are operated by members of this team. Christ the King youth are integral contributors to production of audio/visual tapes for members of Christ the King who are unable to attend services.

Music Team - members lead in worship on Sundays and for special services throughout the church year. Both men and women are encouraged to offer their gifts in music to the glory of God by singing or by playing an instrument.

Lay Readers - These members assist in worship by reading the assigned Scriptures during the liturgy for services.

Kitchen Ministry - Teams of people who are comfortable working together in the kitchen provide supervision and coordination for major church functions. This ministry can be used to draw new and existing church members more fully into the life of Christ the King Church.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of it.
(1 Corinthians 12:27)

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
(Romans 12:4-5)
